The assumption you control

How many more enquiries you'd realistically win with a stronger reputation. This is an assumption, not a promise — a conservative 10–15% is sensible. Drag it to whatever you actually believe.

The whole calculation rides on this one number, and you set it. There's no hidden industry "fact" doing the maths for you — change the slider and watch every figure move. That's the point: an honest estimate you can stand behind, not fake precision.

Better reviews, a tidy Google Business Profile and a website that actually converts are how you close a gap like this. Start free with our Google Review QR Poster to make it effortless for happy customers to leave a review.

Do online reviews really affect sales?

Yes — for local businesses they're one of the biggest deciding factors. Most people read reviews before they call, and a stronger star rating with recent, plentiful reviews tends to win more of the clicks and enquiries you're already generating. This tool doesn't try to pin an exact figure on that; it just lets you turn your own estimate of the effect into a pound value you can see.

How much is a bad Google rating costing me?

Honestly, nobody can tell you an exact number — anyone who claims to is guessing with confidence. What this calculator does instead is transparent: it takes your enquiries, your average job value and the uplift you think a stronger reputation would bring, and multiplies them out. A weaker presence (few or no reviews, a sub-4.0 rating) usually means more headroom to recover, which is why the suggested uplift nudges higher — but the final assumption is always yours to set.

How do I get more reviews?

The single biggest lever is asking at the right moment — right after you've finished the job and the customer is happy — and making it a two-tap job rather than a chore. A review link sent by text, or a printed QR code on your counter, van or invoice, removes the friction. Our free Google Review QR Poster maker turns your review link into a printable poster in seconds. Keep the ask consistent and the reviews compound over time.

Does this tool store my details?
