Who this is for
Any UK shop, salon, café, garage or clinic that steps away from the counter more often than a printed sign suggests. A handwritten note on the back of an envelope tells customers you're disorganised; a proper sign — with a clear "back at" time and a way to reach you — tells them you're just out, not gone for good.
What should a "back soon" sign actually say?
Three things, no more: what's happening (closed, popped out, back soon), when you'll be back if you know it, and how to reach you if it's urgent. Skip the apology paragraph — nobody reads past the second line taped to a shop door.
Should I always give a back-at time?
Only if you can keep to it. A wrong time on the door is worse than no time at all — it turns a five-minute wait into a customer who walked off annoyed. If you're not sure, use "back soon" instead of a specific time, or leave the field blank.
Does this tool store my details?
