Who this is for

Any UK tradesperson or small business about to letter a van — plumbers, electricians, builders, gardeners, cleaners, mobile groomers, dog walkers. A signwritten van is a rolling advert that works while it's parked. This tool lets you try the wording and colours before you commit, so you turn up at the wrap shop knowing exactly what you want.

What should I put on my van?

Keep it to what a driver can read in three seconds at a junction: your business name big, one line saying what you do, and one way to get in touch. A phone number wins for impulse "call now" jobs; a short, memorable website wins for people who'll look you up later — ideally both. Resist cramming every service on there. Three service lines is plenty; the point is recognition, not a full menu.

Tip: put the phone number where it stays visible even when the sliding door is open — the rear quarter or back doors, not the middle of the sliding door itself.

How much does van signwriting cost?

As a rough UK guide: simple cut-vinyl lettering (name, number, a couple of services) typically runs £150–£450 a van; a half-wrap with graphics £500–£1,200; and a full colour-change wrap £1,500–£3,500+ depending on the vehicle and design. Prices vary by region and how much design work is involved. The single biggest cost-saver is turning up with your wording and layout already decided — which is exactly what this mock-up is for. Worth knowing: at BuildMeA we design the van livery and the matching website together, so your van, your Google listing and your site all tell the same story and look like one brand — that consistency is what turns a glance at your van into a booked job.

Does a van wrap need a website on it?

Yes — put a short one on. Plenty of people won't call from a moving van but will search your business name or type your web address in later that evening. If there's no website (or the address is long and forgettable), that warm lead evaporates. A clean, short domain on the van, pointing at a site that actually converts, is what closes the loop between "saw the van" and "got the enquiry".

Does this tool store my details?

No. Everything — the live preview and the downloaded PNG — is built entirely in your browser. Nothing you type or any logo you add is uploaded, saved or sent anywhere, so you can try as many designs as you like.

Please note: this tool gives a guide or estimate only. It may not be 100% accurate and is not professional advice — always check the figures before you rely on them. This is an indicative mock-up, not to scale and not a print-ready artwork file. Your business details and any logo stay in your browser — nothing you type here is uploaded or stored by us.
