Who this is for

Any UK trade or service business whose work looks better than it sounds — driveways, gardens, valeting, cleaning, plastering, barbering, decorating, groomers. If your phone is full of "before" and "after" shots that never make it onto social media, this turns them into a scroll-stopping post in half a minute: drop in two photos, add your name, download, post. Everything happens on your device — the photos are drawn straight onto a <canvas> in your browser and never sent to a server.

Do my photos get uploaded anywhere?

No. The two images you choose are read and combined entirely inside your own browser using a <canvas> element — nothing is uploaded, saved or sent to us or anyone else. Close the tab and they're gone. That means you can use it on jobs at private homes without worrying where the pictures end up.

How do I line up the before and after shots?

The comparison only lands if the framing matches. The simple trick: take your "before" from exactly where you'll be standing for the "after" — same spot, same height, same direction. Use a fixed reference point to line yourself back up: a doorway, a fence post, a parked van. Good, even daylight beats a fancy camera every time.

Tip: avoid shooting the "before" in shade and the "after" in bright sun — the lighting difference alone can make an honest job look staged, which undermines trust when people meet you in person.

Do I need the customer's permission to post before/after photos?

For work at someone's home — especially anything showing the inside of the property — it's polite, and smart, to ask first. One line on your quote or invoice covers it: "I'd love to share a before/after of this job on social media — happy for me to do that?" Most people say yes. Where you don't have permission, avoid anything identifying: house numbers, number plates, names on post, or recognisable neighbours in shot.

What size should a before/after photo be for social media?

Square 1080×1080 is the safe all-rounder — it works on Instagram, Facebook and Google Business Profile posts without awkward cropping. Portrait 1080×1350 takes up more space in the Instagram feed and is best if you want maximum thumb-stopping height; landscape 1200×900 suits Facebook and website galleries. This tool exports all three at full resolution. Need a different platform size, or want to crop an existing photo rather than a collage? Try the Social & Google Business Image Resizer.

Please note: this tool gives a guide or estimate only. It may not be 100% accurate and is not professional advice — always check the figures before you rely on them. Your photos never leave your browser — they are combined on your own device and nothing you add here is uploaded or stored by us.
